The Games is a biennial mini Olympic style event featuring fire fighters and their families from all over the world. They compete for their nation in over 70 different sporting and novelty events, from boxing, football, swimming and athletics, to tug-of-war, dragon-boat racing and the coveted “Toughest Fire fighter Alive” competition. The emphasis is on participation and frienship, but competition is still fierce. The games are self-financing with any surplus donated to charities and various community projects in Liverpool and around the UK.

Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service are one of the most progressive organisations in the fire service, recognized for operational excellence and technical innovation, and Hale Products Europe congratulate MFRS on the games' success and are proud to have been involved as a Gold Sponsor.
